Muffaletta Olive Sandwich

YUMMMM – one of my all time FAVORITE sandwiches! All the salty deliciousness your taste buds CRAVE!

Ingredients

  • 1 Rustic Oven Sourdough Loaf
  • 6 slices salami
  • 6 slices ham
  • 4 slices Mortadella
  • 4 slices Provolone cheese
  • 4 slices Mozzarella cheese
  • 4 Tbsp mayo
  • Olive Salad
    • 1/2 cup green olives, pitted & finely chopped
    • 1/4 cup black olives, finely chopped
    • 1/4 cup Giardiniera, finely chopped
    • 3 pepperoncini, finely chopped
    • 3 cloves garlic, minced
    • 2 tsp oregano
    • 1 tsp Jacobsen’s Italian Sea Salt
    • 1/2 tsp Jacobsen’s freshly ground black pepper
    • 4 cocktail onions, pickled finely chopped
    • 1/2 lemon, juiced
    • 1 Tbsp pepperoncini juice, from the jar
    • 1 Tbsp Stock Market Spicy Calabrian Pesto Extra Virgin Olive Oil, plus a little more for finishing
    • 1 Tbsp Stock Market Garlic & Chive White Balsamic

Directions

Combine all of the ‘Olive Salad’ ingredients and place in a mason jar to marinate overnight.

To assemble the sandwiches, spread each piece of bread with mayo then top with 1/2 cup olive salad. Layer the salami, ham, and mortadella on top of the olive salad. Add the slices of provolone and mozzarella cheese over the meats. Drizzle with a little more Stock Market Spicy Calabrian Pesto Extra Virgin Olive Oil and a couple turns of Jacobsen’s freshly ground black pepper.
